Agency spotlight: The City of Ventura cashes in over $172,000!

Let’s celebrate the City of Ventura for completing their energy project and receiving a cash incentive of over $172,000 from Southern California Edison for their wastewater treatment plant upgrade!

The agency’s water reclamation facility treats up to 9 million gallons of wastewater per day and irrigates a nearby park, golf courses, and other landscaped areas. Prior to distribution, reclaimed water undergoes an extensive treatment process. Water reclamation is an integral part of the city’s innovative environmental solutions.

The project was developed under Southern California Edison’s Water Infrastructure and System Efficiency™ (WISE) Program to include the following facility upgrades:

  • Replacing existing aeration blowers with high-efficiency turbo blowers to reduce energy consumption and optimize the aeration process.

  • Optimizing the secondary treatment process with ammonia-based controls to enhance nitrogen removal and ensure ammonia effluent levels meet environmental standards.

The collaborative effort between the agency’s energy champions, Lincus, and SoCalREN brought this project to the finish line after over 8 years of teamwork. The agency was awarded a cash incentive of over $172,000 to help cover part of the project’s cost.

This upgrade positions the City of Ventura for immediate energy and cost savings and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovative environmental solutions and operational excellence. Check out the additional project outcomes and SoCalREN services utilized below!

SoCalREN is proud to support Ventura’s efforts and we are excited to see their long-term vision for delivering clean, efficient, and resilient water services to Ventura communities come to fruition.
